He did all that just so your account and your slate will be wiped clean—forever. He did all that so you can get what He, the Pure, Innocent and Perfect Lamb, deserved. He endured all those things so YOU will benefit from them.

It’s because He loves you. It’s not just because it is His responsibility as our God to save us from the mess we are in. No. He did that because it was His desire— His one and only desire— to be with us, and to make us enjoy the burning, raging love He has for us.

Right now, if you’re still feeling guilty, or you think you deserve what is going on in your life, remember the cross and think again. YOU DESERVE SO MUCH MORE, beloved, because of what He has bought for you. Claim that. Believe Him, and know that He hasn’t changed from the very beginning. He is still irrevocably, crazily, and passionately in love with you.
